I was just browsing through The Star online today and a couple of the news items has caught my eye… and i just had to blog about it.

First, Where motorist fear to thread, once again highlights the problem of traffic congestion at Pudu. Now I know that to most KL-ians this is nothing new – from in your face touts, to arragont taxi drivers and their superior attitude, and even the local everyday joe with his/hers ‘my-fathers-road-so-i-can-park-where-i-like’ syndrom; the Pudu-Problem is far from ever being solved. But perusing the article, I really have to remark that a statement from an un-indentified motorist stating

“This problem will only be solved if City Hall places an enforcement officer there daily.”

to once again highlight our Boleh! attitude. If there a problem we first point the fingers to the usual suspects – the goverment, the local council, the police… etc, etc that is everybody else except ourself. No never can we be in the wrong, it’s definately always someone else. Typical Malaysian is what I like to brand this type of people.

Next is the Tourism assets under threat article. Nothing riles me more than hearing that our local beaches are once again under threat, this time from the errant development. Fresh back from my trip to Redang, I feel the pain when I hear our beautifull beaches are being destroyed. Even during my trip I did notice that the beach was littered. Imprinted in my memories is the time I came across a cigarette pack and lighter lying on the beach. I even found broken bottles shards which I picked up and disposed of. Again chalk 1 more up for both the Boleh! attitude and also the Typical Malaysian mentality.

In tribute to the first ever post under our brand new category of Malaysia Boleh!... what better way to kick it off with a WIRED feature article on our very own Malaysia.

Tittled  " The World Record-Breaking Capital " the article shines the spotlight and at center stage, is our dear Malaysia Boleh! attitude.

Some quotes from the article:

To Western eyes, the country seems like a nation of attention-hungry circus freaks. But in Malaysia, the desire to build the largest tea bag or gather the most twins at a single location is a form of national pride.

my favourite one of them all …

An excellent nationwide highway system was constructed and is now filled with Protons, Malaysian-made cars driven by people who can’t afford Japanese or German vehicles.

ahh, how the mighty have fallen…

The Malaysia boleh! slogan took off. Advertising agencies used it to promote products; fans chanted the phrase at the Commonwealth Games and other sporting events. And along the way to courting national pride, the call to excellence somehow got translated into setting the record for creating the highest stack of cans in 15 minutes.

SO!

As a Malaysian where do I stand?

The way I see it the article does indeed highlight some of the flaws of our Boleh! attitude. Being poised for Boleh! in various integral aspects has somehow been replaced to seeing our Boleh! utilized in a capacity that is far lesser that it deserves.

What has become of the much acclaimed Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC)?
Where is our latest shining star the BioValley (lately reduced in magnanimity to BioPolis)?
More recently, what happened to our so called ‘Scenic Bridge’?

Somehow along the way from a distinct possiblity we have been reduced to a state of ‘could-have-been’.

The single spark of light in this comedy of error is that to some certain degree we as Malaysian have come  to forge a more closer bond due to our Boleh! spirit.

However there is a myriad of other possibilites that we can just reach out and grab … if only we re-align our Boleh! attitude to more productive avenues instead of making giants pizzas’ and such.

Yes folks.

You’ve read it right. Here at Project Graffiti we’ve somehow been able to witness a one-in-a-kind honest-to-goodness-bona-fied truely earth-shattering miracle.

To be sure, I did try to poke my head outside and check to see if indeed ‘hell hast freezth over’ in-line with the rare occurance that our very own Mr. Invisble Ink has finally made his debut. However, judging by the serenity of the night and the lack of screaming and general pandemonium, it would seem that armageddon has been put off to another day. Whew!

Yup it’s true … Mr. Invisble Ink has finaly decided to materialize. No more will we be regaled with all those fantastic (read as ‘non-existant’) post of his. I myself know that life will never be the same now that i can’t postulate the amazing (also read as ‘non-existant’) tales that might/have/could been written in his ‘invicible’ posts. Ah… gone are the days.

Anyhow, being the optimistic person who looks to the future that I am, in a way I find myself to be glad. Glad that now, our readers will finaly have the chance to read something from M.I.A.

So with great gusto and much exuberance I welcome my fellow blogger Project Graffitie’s very own M.I.A.

Ta da!! Howdy dudes and dudettes on the blog…  oh and not to forget the readers as well! My apologies for the absence. emoticon Hhmm… it seems though that my absence has been a talk on the blog. emoticon Sheesh! Very well then, this shall break the talk for good. Kind of ironic though my nick does rhythm with my absense… hehe.

Well, its Sunday again. What a drag. It seems the week will starts on a very slow momentum everytime Sunday night approaces. I drag Sunday nights. Another week long of workdays. After dinner time, it seems there’s a whole lot of work to do! Wash the clothes, hang the clothes, iron the clothes, fold the clothes, polish the shoes, pat the dog on my way up the staircase, flashback of work at the office (believe me it keeps coming back and its tiring) and sleep. Well at least I’ve broken the routine and being able to slot some time here today. I guess that’s what a SundayOPhobic sufferer symptoms are. Any docs out there wanna lend a hand?

Another new day, another new week to look forward  dread. Have a great week ahead folks! Happy Easter emoticon

It’s been a couple of days since my last post and this is mostly due to the fact that I was away on vacation at Pulau Redang over the weekend. Yes people, I have finally taken a decent vacation away from my job since I actually started working more than a year ago. Expect the four-one-one (4-1-1) on the trip soon as i’m taking my time to process the photos.

Next is that i’ll be having a busy weekend due to the fact that PC Fair will be held at the KL Convention Center from this 14th to the 16th of April. Besides going there for the usual look around, I also need to get myself quite a few DVD-R’s as my current stock level is precariously low. Additonally i’ll be helping out a friend to get a DVD burner. So looks like it’s busy busy busy for me! Again, expect some coverage on the fair – in my own slow pace.

People, bear with the blog theme changes going around ok!

I haven’t found a suitable theme yet and as previously mentioned I don’t have the time to start doing my own theme.

I found the previous theme too simplified yet oddly infuriating! So I changed it to the current one. Let’s give this one a try first before we actually settle on a theme. Any comment or even suggestions on this matter would be highly valued.

I know, I know. It’s been over 2 whole weeks since my last (and also the first) post here. My only defence for this horrendous act that tarnishes the idea of blogging – is that i was busy. On the other hand, maybe I was actually trying to set a record here, you never know (more on this in a later post).

Busy enough that I can’t spare a couple of minutes for writing at least something? Well I was busy to the extent that i’m sleeping only 6 hours a day, which again wouldn’t be that bad if i wasn’t also spending 8 hours everyday standing most of the time and talking (i.e. training my users). Anyway hopefully we can let bygones be bygones, and so without further adieu ... i’m now officially back to posting on this blog.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank both Sin and Cindy, both of whom have been following the blog with some anticipation of seeing at least some more posts. Having seen nothing, they have already gotten on my case for abandoning the blog and therefore I want need to credit them with getting the ‘stone’ rolling once again.

However, first i would also like to mete out some judgement of my own. Here I would like to point out that the other half of this ‘supposed’ co-owned blog has seen absoloutely nothing, nada, ziltch of even an inkling of contribution. No… i’m not joking here, there is another blogger who is supposed to be blogging here beside myself. Hell right now I would drop dead if I can even say I’ll expect a post soon from Mr. Invisible Ink (hehe… a nickname i just came up with). More updates are forthcoming on this issue, so be on the look out.

Sorry to make a brief post-and-dash scenario, but i’m actually writing this post at my clients place during my lunch break – see i’m truely busy  emoticon ! Cherrio for now
